Roomys is designed to protect users and their privacy. A
faculty, university or research department can host its own
messaging and collaboration on-premise to retain full ownership
and control. Alternatively, Roomys is available as a
fully-managed hosted solution that provides the same level of
data ownership.
End-to-end encryption by default
keeps users’ conversations and files safe, while cross-signed
device verification using QR codes or emoji comparisons guards
against imposters and attackers.
For larger
deployments, single sign-on (SSO), antivirus and audit bots
bring an extra layer of security and help ensure compliance.

Individuals, for example a guest lecturer, can easily create their own free Roomys account using a public Matrix server. It is a completely cost-free way for a third party person to collaborate with a university, its staff and students.
Communities
Communities (large and small) and entire universities can opt
for the fully managed Roomys Cloud solution. Fast, reliable
performance with a custom branded domain and flexible
interoperability. The advantages of self-hosting, but as a
service.
Enterprise
Companies can easily adopt Roomys and Matrix to connect with
universities. Likewise, Roomys-based universities can use
bridges to interoperate with private sector partners using
systems such as Slack or Microsoft Teams.
Public sector
